Overview

James Lighthill House is centrally located, just a short distance from Kings Cross and St. Pancras International (WC1X 9EN) stations. James Lighthill House has two buildings; the main building has 189 single and 20 single rooms on the lodge.

Accommodation is offered in single ensuite rooms. In the main building, up to eight people share a kitchen in each flat. In the Lodge, up to seven people share a kitchen on each floor.

Islington, with the Business Design Centre, and many bars, cafes, restaurants and independent shops and Sadler’s Wells - a venue dedicated to international dance, are all easily accessible on foot from James Lighthill House. Accessing other London attractions (for example the West End and the museums of South Kensington) can be done using conveniently located public transport.

Food & beverage

James Lighthill House offers self-catering facilities including use of communal kitchens. Kitchens are fully equipped and have refrigerators, freezers, cookers, and microwaves, as well as basic crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.

Kitchens are cleaned frequently (at least once weekly), guests are responsible for washing and tidying up.

Kitchens and communal rooms can be used between 07:00hrs and 22:00hrs daily, please observe silence after 11.00pm not to cause disturbance to other guests.

Other facilities

All bedrooms have WiFi as well as common areas (common room/TV room).

There is no smoking inside any UCL building. Smoking is permitted in courtyards with consideration for other guests.

Guests staying at James Lighthill House have access to on-site laundry facilities and common room/TV lounge.
